Texas executed Jesse Beunka Adams in Huntsville, Texas.  It is the state’s 482nd post-Furman execution since 1982 and  the 243rd execution conducted under the administration of Rick Perry.

Beunka Adams is the fifth person executed this year in Texas, the 17th inmate put to death this year, and the 1,294th person executed in the U.S. since 1976.

The Oregon Justice Resource Center opposes the death penalty (capital punishment) in all circumstances. The death penalty is the ultimate, irreversible denial of civil liberties.
